Here are a few of the more commonly asked questions that our customers ask:
1) What is the difference between a Water-based lubricant and Silicone lubricant?
Water-based lubricant is the most versatile because it is safe for all sexual activities as well as use with toys. The main ingredient being water makes it free of smell, taste & is colourless. Since the body tends to absorb the water out of the lubricant, leaving it to dry up quicker, you will need to reapply more often.
Silicone lubricants are perfect for long-lasting sexual play due to their thicker consistency. Because of this, they are ideal for anal play and any type of water play! However, they are not safe with a silicone material as it will destroy the surface of the toy.
2) Can you use massage oil as a lubricant?
This is not recommended. It is not a good idea to use massage oils on the genitals, particularly on the vulva and in the vagina. Some women can get yeast infections from oils or experience irritation from the scents in massage products.
3) What is the main purpose of a cock-ring?
A cock-ring is a stretchable ring worn at the base of the penis that restricts blood flow and produces a stronger, bigger erection. Because of the restriction the ring provides, they can help you last longer and control premature ejaculation, as well as increase the intensity of orgasms!
Keep in mind it is unsafe to wear a cock ring for longer than 30 minutes.
4) What is the difference between medical grade silicone and rubber/jelly?
Silicone is a non-porous, hypoallergenic, long lasting material. Since it doesn’t harbor bacteria, it makes it very easy to clean. When it comes to lubricants, water or gel-based are the best to use, as a silicone lubricant will break down the material of the toy.
Rubber and jelly toys are porous and harbor bacteria (yuck), the problem with this is you can’t ever properly clean the toy. These materials tend to feel softer and more flexible, this is due to being porous.
5) How to decide between anal beads vs. anal plugs?
Anal plugs are designed to give a “fuller sensation”. Plugs are easier to wear for sustained periods of time because they are designed to stay put once inserted. Wearing a plug during sex helps to stimulate the sensitive nerves in and around the anus.
Anal beads are a strand of beads sized small to large. The purpose for this is that they are designed to be inserted and slowly (or fast) pulled out during orgasm.
It is very important that any anal toy has a larger base on the bottom so it stops the toy from traveling up the rectum.
6) Why choose glass over other materials? What are the benefits of glass?
The benefit of glass dildos is they are 100% non-porous and are made from a pyrex glass – in other words, they are very durable! You can choose to heat them up or cool them down, for whichever sensation you prefer. The thicker the dildo, the more weight it will have to offer, giving a different experience.
Because of their inflexible material, these are perfect toys to stimulate the G-spot or the Prostate.
7) What is a “Rabbit”?
When you hear rabbit, you think that famous episode from “Sex in the City”. Am I right?
A rabbit vibrator is a dual-action toy that offers penetration as well as clitoral stimulation at the same time. Although there are various models of the rabbit, most of the time the shaft of the toy will rotate, while the clitoral “bunny” attachment vibrates. A rabbit is a fantastic choice if you are in the mood for a little one-on-one time with yourself.
8) Prostate vs. G spot?
The prostate and the g-spot are an almost equivalent organ, are stimulated in similar ways, but they reside in opposite sexes. The prostate refers to the male g-spot, which is located adjacent to the anus and sits behind the bladder. During anal play the prostate is stimulated through the rectal wall, resulting in intensely pleasurable sensations and bigger, stronger orgasms.
The g-spot is located on the front wall of the vagina (behind the bladder) and accessed through the vagina (think of making a “come here” motion towards the belly button). When aroused, this sensitive area will swell, become engorged with blood flow and expand in size.
9) What are the benefits of Ben Wa Balls?
One of the benefits of using ben wa balls is for women who are preparing for childbirth. Exercising the pelvic floor muscles can help to prepare women for the advanced stages of pregnancy and childbirth. Kegel exercises are also helpful when it comes to treating urinary incontinence, as well as uterine prolapse.
Sexual benefits for strengthening the pelvic floor muscles means that women can develop the ability to tighten the vaginal walls when required, resulting in a woman to be able to obtain multiple orgasms.
10) How to choose what vibrator is right for you.
Walking into a store and seeing a hundred different types of vibrators is overwhelming, to say the least. How do you know which vibrator will be right for you? Well, my first question is always: Do you think you would you like clitoral vibration, internal, or both at the same time?
The clitoral vibrators tend to be smaller in size, so they’re a perfect size to fit in your hand for external use.
Internal vibrators are longer in length and come in a variety of different widths, lengths, sizes, and settings.
A vibrator that does both (at the same time) is called a “rabbit”. It is designed with a shaft for internal vibration (or rotation) as well as a smaller attachment that vibrates against your clitoris. This is an amazing toy if you’re using it solo, as it does everything at once!
